OHSAS 18001
What is OHSMS?
OHSMS or Occupational Health and Safety Management System is that part of the overall system which controls the unacceptable risks to a company's human and physical assets.
What is OHSAS 18001?
An international standard used for the certification of the OHSMS
Provides organizations which elements can be integrated with other management systems, to achieve OHS goals and other social and economic goals.
Not yet an ISO standard. Issued in April 1999 by the British Standard Institute (BSI) together with participating certification bodies (SGS, Det Norske Veritas, etc.).
A voluntary standard
